Certi-Fire Fire Alarm Electricians
The ECAO Fire Alarm & Protection Certification Program (“CERTI-FIRE”) meets the requirements of the Ontario Fire Code O. Reg. 213/07.
This program is deemed acceptable to the Ontario Fire Marshal and satisfies the requirement of Clause C.1.2.1.2. A wallet-sized photo ID and a certificate of completion are issued to every electrician upon successful completion of Level IV.
As a requirement of the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office, every electrician certified under the ECAO Fire Alarm & Protection Certification Program must renew their certification every five years.

ECAO Fire Alarm & Protection Certification Program (“CERTI-FIRE”)
A CERTI-FIRE Fire Alarm Electrician has successfully completed an intensive, four-level certification program acceptable by the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office. It guarantees the expertise required to assess your needs, install the correct technology, and maintain and monitor your fire alarm system. It’s one-stop fire alarm security and peace of mind.
The CERTI-FIRE program has four levels of training and a recertification is mandatory every five years to stay current. It is recognized and approved by the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office.
Level 1: Conventional Fire Alarm Control Panels and Installation of Input and Output Devices.
Level 2: Integrated Fire Alarm Control EVAC Systems and Fire Alarm Extinguishing Control Panels
Level 3: Troubleshooting of Complete Fire Alarm Systems
Level 4: Advanced Fire Alarm control Panel: Addressable Digital and Analogue Devices
Level 5 (Recertification): Update Codes, Standards and Technology

To help you choose a qualified Fire Alarm Contractor, ECAO has registered all its member contractors who meet the requirements of the Registered Fire Alarm Contractor (RFAC) Program. There is NO fee for becoming an RFAC.
Qualifications
Demonstrate significant fire alarm experience in the past 2 years
Employ certified fire alarm electricians
Comply with all applicable fire alarm codes and standards
Maintain a minimum $2.0M liability insurance
